Indian Head Massage, also known as Champissage, is an ancient technique that has been practiced for over a thousand years. This holistic treatment focuses on the head, neck, and shoulders, and provides a range of physical and mental benefits.
Stress Relief: Indian Head Massage is known for its calming and relaxing effects, helping to reduce stress and tension in the body. The gentle pressure and soothing strokes stimulate the release of endorphins, promoting a sense of well-being and relaxation.
Improved Circulation: The massage techniques used in Indian Head Massage increase blood flow and oxygenation to the scalp and brain, improving circulation and nourishing the hair follicles. This can lead to healthier hair growth and even a reduction in hair loss!
Migraine and Headache Relief: The massage can help to relieve the pain and discomfort associated with migraines and headaches, as it stimulates pressure points and improves circulation in the head and neck area.
Sleep: The relaxing effects of Indian Head Massage can help to improve sleep quality, making it easier to fall asleep and stay asleep throughout the night.
Increased Mental Clarity: By improving circulation and reducing stress, Indian Head Massage can help to clear the mind and improve concentration, making it easier to focus on tasks and make decisions.
Overall Wellness: Indian Head Massage is a holistic treatment that addresses the mind, body, and spirit, promoting overall wellness and well-being.

Woodland Bear Indian Head Massage Treatments:
During an Indian Head Massage session, you can expect the following:
Consultation: Before starting the massage, the therapist will ask about your medical history, any current health concerns, and your desired outcome for the session. This helps them customize the treatment to suit your individual needs.
Preparation: We will prepare a calming environment, often using candles, soothing music, and aromatic oils to promote relaxation. You will be asked to sit comfortably on a chair, with your back supported, and remove any jewellery or accessories from your head, neck, and shoulder areas.
Scalp, Neck and Shoulder Massage: The massage will extend to your neck and shoulders, using kneading and stretching techniques to relieve tension in the muscles. This can help to improve posture and release stress held in these areas.
Upper Back Massage: The therapist may also work on your upper back, using long strokes and kneading movements to further reduce tension and promote relaxation.
Face and Ears Massage: The massage may include gentle pressure on the face, focusing on the forehead, temples, and jaw muscles.
Final Relaxation: At the end of the session, the therapist will allow you a few minutes to relax and enjoy the benefits of the massage.
Indian Head Massage sessions can typically take 30 to 45 minutes and can be combined with Reiki or other healing sessions.
