What is Reiki?

Reiki is a Japanese form of alternative medicine that is based on the belief that a person’s vital energy can be blocked or disrupted, leading to physical, emotional, or spiritual imbalances.

The goal of Reiki is to help the body’s natural healing processes and restore balance to the body, mind, and spirit. During a Reiki session, the practitioner will place their hands above the patient’s body, and use their intuition to guide the flow of energy to where it’s needed most.

Reiki can be used to treat a wide range of conditions, including stress, anxiety, chronic pain, insomnia, and depression. It can also be used as a complementary therapy alongside traditional medical treatments.

Reiki is a gentle and non-invasive practice that is believed to be safe for people of all ages and health conditions.

Traditional Usui Reiki:

Traditional Usui Reiki, also known as Usui Shiki Ryoho, is the original form of Reiki that was developed in Japan in the early 20th century by Mikao Usui.

It’s based on the belief that there is a universal life force energy that can be channelled through the Reiki practitioner to promote healing and balance. Usui Reiki is focused on personal and spiritual growth,

The practice involves a series of attunements, or initiations, that are designed to open up the practitioner’s energy channels and attune them to the Reiki energy. Traditional Usui Reiki is a holistic healing practice that aims to promote balance and harmony in all aspects of a person’s being, including the physical, emotional, and spiritual.

Will Reiki be beneficial to me?

In nearly all cases Yes! – and if you are unsure just give it a try! At the very least a Reiki session can help you tune out of the ordinary busy World and forget your problems at least for a while. You will be relaxed and enter a meditative state during the session.

Incorporating the additional elements like incense, and sound therapy into a Reiki session can enhance the overall experience and provide additional benefits.

  • Incense: The aroma of incense can stimulate the senses and promote relaxation, helping the person to tune out from the stresses of everyday life. Different types of incense, such as lavender or sandalwood, are known for their calming and soothing properties.more info on sacred herbs
  • Sound Therapy: The use of sound, such as Drumming, singing bowls or gongs, can create a deep state of relaxation and promote well being. The vibrations of the sound can help to balance the body’s energy and bring about a sense of peace and harmony.

Together, these elements create a multi-sensory experience that is highly beneficial for a person’s well-being. 🙂
